Successful Testing of Agartala-Gangasagar Rail Link in Bangladesh

Agartala: Technical testing on the newly constructed railway track from Bangladesh’s Gangasagar to Nischintapur in Tripura was successfully conducted on Thursday. This development strengthens connectivity between India’s northeastern region and neighboring countries. An official confirmed this information. The official explained that the railway line, which is 6.7 kilometers long, underwent successful testing. It is a part of the 15-kilometer long rail link that connects Agartala, the capital of Tripura, to Gangasagar in Brahmanbaria district of Bangladesh.

Texmaco Rail and Engineering Limited have been involved in the construction of the railway track from Gangasagar to Nischintapur. Sarat Sharma, Vice Chairman of Texmaco Rail and Engineering Limited, informed the reporters, “The journey from Gangasagar to Nischintapur remained smooth and took only 20 minutes to reach zero point.

The train was Moving at a speed of 30 km per hour. Now, the railway track is ready for train services.” He mentioned that the government will decide when to commence train services on these newly constructed tracks.
